It’s safe to say that we’re big fans of interior design. After all, we’re in the business of creating immersive 3D tours centered around– you guessed it– great interiors! And what better way to discover incredible interiors worth visiting, than checking out Airbnb?
With staycation spots all over the world, we were hard pressed to find a destination that didn't include an inspiring array of well-designed spaces, but we decided to start in The3DApp’s birth state of New York for our first exploration.
We’ve included a bit of everything below from cozy cottages with some architectural twists, to a few ultra modern marvels of minimal design. These Airbnb’s are worth a few nights away:
An open-plan studio located on the upstairs floor of a historic carriage house makes this space ideal for a charming getaway alone or with a partner. The interior is a perfect combo of modern-meets-rustic, with clever wallpaper placement, exposed beams, and show-stopping details like the drapey light fixture in the center of the space, or the stylized rugs that help balance the interior, overall. Located in the vibrant town of Peekskill, NY, this Airbnb promises a charming time both inside, as well as out.
The Deluxe Mountain View Log Cabin
This takes "log cabin living" to the next level! An incredibly affordable 8-guest sleeper flooded with light from the tremendously tall windowed livingroom. The painted log-stack walls that make up the sprawling-yet cozy interiors create a modernized version of a mountain getaway. The lofted level promises plenty of space for guests to group together, or do their own thing. The updated and stylish appliances create a never-shabby, always chic ambiance. This is how we do the woods!
Dome mind us for favoring this unusual Airbnb located in an incredible custom-build that feels reminiscent of a retro airport or resort hotel. Inside this absolutely sun-flooded space we find spiraling staircases and dark wood details that uphold the midcentury integrity of the design against the white walls, featuring pops of terracotta and orange. The curved entryway and cut-out windows in the front door are especially charming. This absolutely stunning architectural marvel is located in The Catskills just outside Roxbury, NY. Surrounded by greenery with long distance views, this soothes our inner design enthusiast, while quenching our thirst for the great outdoors.
The Eco-Sculptural Wooded Retreat
The unpredictability of this incredible and eco-friendly house in Rhinebeck, NY is awe-inspiring to say the least. The modern and angular outside structure gives way to beautiful carved wood interiors that feature rounded nooks, skylights, and a domed bookshelf that doubles as a stepladder to a bed. Nestled on a wooded 30 acre property, the views from the custom-shaped windows are that of trees and other natural surroundings. This solar-powered house is sure to provide a peaceful escape to those who feel inspired to book a stay.
This hobbit-like structure, fondly referred to as “The Shire” is built a bit like a retro airstream trailer with a long and narrow interior that houses sleeping and dining quarters, plus a kitchenette. A teeny tiny accompanying hut next door holds a private wood-burning sauna, making this space ideal for a couple’s spa retreat. We always love the innovation that goes into a tiny home interior, and this one does not disappoint us, with its curvaceous walls and convertible spaces– like the dining area that doubles as an extra bedroom.
Minimalism to the max! This perfectly sized home tickles our taste for interior design with its white-on-black-on-blonde color palette and perfectly curated decor– right down to the cookware. The exposed beams feature flawlessly against modern kitchen details. The light-filled space is peppered with cozy nooks, and spaces to simply chill. The soaking tub near the window overlooking a wooded landscape has us dreaming of taking a personal day (or three) in this Kerhonkson-based home. A great escape!
